Sunday, June 18, is Father’s Day, and a great day to compete with your father at the 10th Annual Lucy Eisler Memorial 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament. Balls hit the backboards at the Lincoln Park Jewish Center’s basketball court on Father’s Day starting at 9:30 a.m. LPJC members Nathan and Denise Eisler, and his brother Dave Kallin and family, annually sponsor this tournament, open to all, in honor of the memory of their mother Lucy, a long-time Yonkers resident and a member of the Lincoln Park Jewish Center synagogue.
Past proceeds have supported The Children’s Aid Society and a different worthwhile organization will receive this year’s money. The event includes prizes, trophies, an event T-shirt, contestants’ breakfast, professional referees and a special surprise guest speaker. Past tournaments have included former Harlem Globetrotter Mike Matthews, and former Seton Hall University basketball coach, Bobby Gonzalez.
Please register your three-member team by calling the synagogue office at 914-965-7119 by June 12 and paying the $36 per team entry fee. Fun! Friendly! Competition! Celebrate Father’s Day!
