The Yeshiva University men’s soccer team earned a hard-fought non-conference win over Pratt Institute, 3-1, at University Stadium on Wednesday evening. The Maccabees scored the lone goal in the first half, and outscored the Cannoneers, 2-1, in the second to clinch the win.

Each team had plenty of opportunities to score the game’s first goal in the early stages of the match, but strong goaltending and defense by both teams kept the score knotted at zero. Yeshiva (3-10-1) broke through in the 37th minute, as freshman forward Netanel Silberman received a pass from Dan Cohen and sprinted towards the net, kicking the ball past the goalkeeper to put the home team up, 1-0. Inbal Jerusalem Hotel Hosts Former NBA Star Amar’e Stoudemire

Jerusalem—Former National Basketball Association (NBA) star and current Hapoel Jerusalem player Amar’e Stoudemire has teamed with the Inbal Jerusalem Hotel to host a charity event for children in need. During the event, which took place in the lobby of the hotel on Sunday, Oct. 23, various items were sold, including subscriptions to Hapoel Jerusalem basketball games and merchandise signed by Stoudemire.

The Inbal Jerusalem Hotel was chosen to host the event because at this time of year many of its guests are visiting from North America and are very familiar with Stoudemire and his achievements in the NBA.

MTA Sophomores Catch Epic Yankees 9th Inning Win

This past week, Yeshiva University High School for Boys (MTA) 10th graders spent their “Sophomore Night Out” watching the New York Yankees take on the Boston Red Sox at Yankee Stadium. Following school, the boys headed straight to the stadium and made it in time for the first pitch. The game started off as a heated pitcher’s duel, with each team having just one hit through the first six innings. All the students enjoyed themselves watching the game and hanging out with friends.

TABC JV Basketball Gearing Up for a Great Season

Thanks to a dominant game by starting forward Alex Ostrin, the TABC Storm JV basketball team beat Flatbush 45-39 in a scrimmage game on Sunday. Ostrin was helped by fellow starters Yoni Mann, Amichai Citron, Jonathan Haberman and Yechiel Keiser who all did their part to contribute to the win. The Storm, led by coach Oswald Cross, came out strong, and went into halftime with a nine point lead. In the second half, Flatbush came back, going on a run and tying the game at 32 points. However, TABC was able to hold on and emerged victorious, and now go into the season building on this success.
