Lewis’s teammate Adam Weiss told The JLNJ, “David has won multiple New York City races and is very speedy.”

Tudor Livadaru moved from Romania to Riverdale at the age of 10, and has been there ever since, with the exception of his college years, which were spent playing soccer at Brandeis University. Following his recent graduation, Livadaru returned to Riverdale intending to inspire young children to get involved in soccer, the game he loves. He believes that playing soccer is a perfect way to have fun and stay active.

The Jewish Link of Bronx, Westchester and Connecticut and Gotham Burger would like to recognize Avigayil Shapiro, 17, as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. The recent Ma’ayanot graduate had a terrific four years at Ma’ayanot. When she was a sophomore and junior, she was captain of the Ma’ayanot track team and won many ribbons for top three finishes. This past year in her fourth on the Ma’ayanot hockey team, she was appointed captain. Just before the season started, she fractured her foot during practice and was told that she might miss the whole season.
