Ma’ayanot’s JV Rapids team had an amazing first game. Sophomore captains Avigayil Kaminetsky, Noa Berkowitz and Avigayil Halpert all put up points for their young team. Kaminetsky had eight points, Berkowitz had four points including two clutch foul shots. Halpert had four points. Esther Avidan had eight points from the floor. Sophomore point guard Nealy Saks had several steals and fast breaks helping her team stay aggressive on defense and leading on offense. TABC Hockey Splits in Double Header Against Rival Frisch

The TABC Storm took on the Frisch Cougars at home in a thrilling double header. After an exciting win last week over the Ramaz Rams, the varsity team was looking for a second victory. Both schools came out strong, especially on the defensive side of the court. Neither team could catch a break, as TABC was able to match the talent of the heavily favored Cougars. The third period ended without a goal, and the game was headed to overtime. After a hard fought game, the Cougars were able to finally find a hole in the opening seconds of overtime to secure the win. Even with the loss, TABC fought hard and played incredibly well.

MTA Varsity Lions Finish Third at Steve Glouberman Tournament

For the first time in half a decade, the MTA Lions ventured out of the tri state area for a basketball tournament. They arrived in Los Angeles on Wednesday night and on Thursday morning set out for Shalhevet to play against the Frisch Cougars, after which they went to the JEM Center to match up against the Valley Torah Wolfpack. In both games MTA played stellar defense, holding these two juggernaut offenses to 40 and 41 points respectively. However, MTA could not get their shots to fall and came up short in both appearances landing them at the seventh seed to square off against the tournament hosts, the second seeded Shalhevet Firehawks, on Friday morning.

TABC JV Ball Gears Up For Another Strong Season

In its second year under coaching duo Oswald Cross and Jonathan Packer, the TABC JV Basketball team enters the season with another strong roster. Coach Oz, who has had much success coaching at an AAU level and as an assistant coach at St. John’s University, has brought his talent and leadership back for another season and has high hopes for this year’s team. After an early exit from the playoffs last season, returning sophomores Alex Ostrin, Avi Proctor, Jonathan Haberman, Yechiel Keiser, Joe Baron, Eli Rifkind, Gabe Gerszberg, and Jacob Blumenthal are excited for another chance to compete for a championship.
