Dr. Alex Joffe

(Courtesy of Cong. Anshe Sholom) Congregation Anshe Sholom’s sisterhood invites the community to hear Dr. Alex Joffe speak on the topic “Anti-Semitism in 2018. Where Are We?” on Sunday, November 11, at 2:30 p.m.

Dr. Joffe is an archaeologist and historian. A fellow at the Middle East Forum and senior non-resident researcher at the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies at Bar Ilan University, he has published widely on the Arab-Israeli conflict and global anti-Semitism, including the BDS movement.

Joffe will present information about how the “intersectional” alliances between the progressive far left and minority communities have moved to a new style of anti-Semitism, which targets Israel and its supporters, from campuses to mainstream Western political parties. Acknowledging the resurgence of neo-Nazis in the U.S. and Europe, he will provide insight as to what drives these movements and what the future holds for Jews and Israel.

Congregation Anshe Sholom is located at 50 North Avenue, New Rochelle. The cost for the event is $5; light refreshments will be served.
