This year’s Hyacinthe and Harold E. Hoffman Memorial Lecture is proud to present a live taping of the Jewish podcast, Unorthodox. This event will take place at Temple Beth El in Stamford on Thursday, September 19, at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:45. A dessert reception will follow the program.
Unorthodox is a smart, fresh, fun, weekly take on Jewish news and culture, produced by Tablet Magazine and hosted by Mark Oppenheimer, Stephanie Butnick and Liel Leibovitz, co-authors of “The Newish Jewish Encyclopedia: From Abraham to Zabar’s and Everything in Between,” which will be published in October.
Joining the three hosts will be Rabbi Joseph Telushkin, renowned spiritual leader and scholar, and author of more than 15 books on Judaism, and Farooq Kathwari, president and CEO of Ethan Allen and co-chair of the Muslim-Jewish Advisory Council.
Since its debut in August 2015, Unorthodox has become one of the most popular and beloved Jewish podcasts, with nearly 4 million downloads coming from all over the U.S. and the world.
As with all Hoffman lectures, the public is invited to attend without charge. To reserve your tickets, go to: https://tbe-uo.eventbrite.com or call the synagogue office at 203-322-6901, ext. 300.
