Northeast Jewish Center’s annual Rockin’ glatt kosher BBQ, held Sunday, August 25, was organized by the Men’s Club and Sisterhood and provided food, entertainment and fun for the almost 100 attendees. Rebbetzin Luba Glasser prepared the food with the help of synagogue members and volunteers, who preserved the secret of the delicious sauce used to baste the chicken wings.

The featured entertainment was MidLife band, a rock cover band that brings its own spin to Rock ’n Roll hits from the ’60’s, ’70’s and ’80’s, including songs of Reb Shlomo Carlebach. One of MidLife’s most interesting songs is their original merging of Joni Mitchell’s “Woodstock” with the Israeli song “Shirat Ha’asavim,” “Song of the Grasses.”
