The Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center has created a second- and third-generation group called GenerationsForward. This group includes children and grandchildren of Holocaust survivors. We meet throughout the year and have ongoing projects and events.
Our next meeting, on September 11, at 7 p.m., will feature Nolan Altman, JewishGen’s vice president for data acquisition. Nolan will present “What Makes Jewish Genealogy Different.” He will describe what makes Jewish genealogy different from other ethnic groups; the challenges dealing with documents; and what patronymic naming is, how it is used, and how it impacted our family names.
Location on request.
