Have you ever wondered what Jewish life is like in Scarsdale, New York? If, like so many, your answer is “yes,” then here’s some good news. On December 6 and 7, the Young Israel of Scarsdale is inviting prospective new members to experience Westchester County hospitality and join them for a meaningful Shabbat experience.
Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, where 12 families visited Scarsdale to experience Shabbat at YIS with its 400+ member families, this year’s weekend has some exciting new additions to the schedule.
All prospective members will be housed with local families, and kick off the activities with Friday night dinner at YIS. The event will also feature special programming with Charlie Harary, an in-demand inspirational speaker, and a cappella davening and performances led by YIS chazan and singer Mordy Weinstein. Plus, the entire Shabbat will be filled with engaging youth activities and opportunities to connect with synagogue leadership, including Rabbis Jonathan Morgenstern and Nuriel Klinger, as well as other members of this multi-generational community. Among the crowd ready to greet visitors? Two of the newest YIS member families…who just happen to have been among the group at last year’s prospective weekend!
