Jews often pull all nighters on the first night of Shavuot. For Chabad of Riverdale members, this upcoming Shavuot is no different. Starting on Sunday, May 24th, Chabad of Riverdale is hosting Rabbi Asher Crispe, a highly knowledgeable technology expert and media aficionado, who will speak about emerging developments in science and the digital universe. His non-profit, Interinclusion.org, celebrates the convergence between contemporary arts and sciences and timeless Jewish wisdom. Rabbi Crispe illuminates the arts and sciences through the lens of the Torah. Past lectures covered music, art, film, architecture, psychology, education, and regenerative medicine. Rabbi Crispe will leave his hometown of Danby, Vermont to spend the weekend in Riverdale, discussing topics such as cognitive science and the Kabbalah, ten dimensions of the Jewish musical experience, the Ba’al Shem Tov on hyperconnectivity, and the inside story of Shabbat, among many others.
For children, an ice cream party will be held on Sunday, May 24 at 3pm. They will learn about the ten commandments, make their own sundaes, enjoy games, and receive prizes.
