Chabad of Riverdale to Offer Hebrew Literacy Program for Children

The Riverdale Chabad is launching a Hebrew literacy initiative for children in grades 2–6 on Monday afternoon from 4:30–6 p.m. The program utilizes Aleph Champ, which uses different colors to represent a hierarchy of proficiency. This self-paced program gives children the opportunity to grow at the level they are comfortable with. White, for example, is intended to help students identify the first half of the Hebrew alphabet. As the levels progress, the entire alphabet is learned as well as their accompanying vowels. When they are at the Black level, they can read Hebrew fluently from a siddur.
