As part of the Women’s Initiative for Jewish Studies (WIJS), Dr. Avigail Rock will be speaking on Tuesday, April 5, at 7:45 p.m. at the Young Israel of New Rochelle. Her topic is “Chazal’s Attitude Toward Translation of the Torah.”

Dr. Rock is a certified Bet Din Advocate. She received her doctorate from Bar Ilan University and has been teaching Torah studies for more than two decades in Israel and abroad. She held the position of leader of the Women’s Division of the Boca Raton Community Kollel, and she continues to teach in Boca by video conference. Her online classes appear regularly through Yeshivat Har Etzion’s Virtual Beit Midrash. Dr. Rock lives in Beit Shemesh with her husband, Rabbi Yehudah Rock, and their five children.

WIJS extends a warm welcome to the Westchester (and beyond) communities to join in this multifaceted venture of advancing Jewish Scholarship in our area. Now in its second year, under the leadership of Mrs. Yvette Finkelstein, the program features speakers from both the United States and Israel in a series of monthly lectures held at the Young Israel of New Rochelle.
