This past Sunday, Dec. 2, preschool aged children from all over Riverdale, White Plains and New Rochelle joined together to celebrate Chanukah with their friends, parents and grandparents, at Stein Yeshiva’s annual Chanukah carnival!
Highlights of the celebration included a live musical sing-a-long featuring the voices of Tkiya and an interactive oil workshop presented by the Chabad of Bronxville.
At the musical sing a long, children sang and danced along to their favorite Chanukah tunes, as well as some new originals! The singalong also featured a Chanukah storytelling.
Children then joined Rabbi Deitsch from the Chabad of Bronxville for an interactive demonstration of how oil is pressed, much like in the times of the Maccabees in ancient Greece! How incredible! The boys and girls came up and took turns pressing the olives—a task much more difficult that it looks!
Additional features of the party included a moonbounce, Chanukah painting and card making, a family photo booth, face painting and fresh latkes and sufganiyot! Great Chanukah fun was had by all!
