As they began their week celebrating Rosh Chodesh Shvat, students in gan yeladim (kindergarten) at WTA have started to prepare for Chag Ha’Ilanot, Tu B’Shvat. After learning the different parts of a tree in Hebrew, and learning about the significance of the chag, the students planted seeds in soil and will be observing their plants as they grow over the next couple of weeks. Teachers also sent home two paper alim and asked parents to share mitzvot  their children have performed at home. The leaves are being added to their “etz hama’asim hatovim” (tree of good deeds) which inspires the children to continue to perform mitzvot at school.
