We are elated to announce that the SAR Science Olympiad team won seven medals and the trophy for coming in third place out of the 13 teams from the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area at the Science Olympiad yesterday.
The SAR team won medals in seven of the events—one gold, four Silver, one bronze and one fourth place medal.
The SAR kids worked hard to prepare and spent the entire day yesterday at the Olympiad. They came in to school at 7:45 a.m. Sunday morning after getting home from a wonderful and exhausting school-wide shabbaton from which many returned after midnight Saturday night! They were good spirited and good sports and put their whole heart into the competitions, which can get intense!
Members of the Science Olympiad team are: Eric Ajdler, Tova Berman, Akiva Davis, Ian Fuller, Betzalel Hochberg, Noa Kalfus, Tobi Katz, Bailey Lerman, Ryan Meiteles, Sophia Reich, Jacob Rothstein, Maya Rubenstein, Manny Sasson, Hava Schwartz, Dovie Shalev and manager Nina Kornfeld.
Each member of the team played a critical role in winning the trophy and SAR congratulates all of them! Many thanks to the members of the science department who were each involved in coaching different events.
