Seventeen student members of the Israel Advocacy Club (IAC) of Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy Upper School travelled to Washington, D.C. last month to attend the 2019 AIPAC Policy Conference.
The students listened to the remarks of a host of leaders and dignitaries, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Vice President Michael Pence, and learned of AIPAC’s efforts to strengthen the Israel-United States relationship. On the final day of the conference, students met with members of Connecticut’s congressional delegation to advocate for U.S. support of the Jewish state.
“The conference was a great place to learn about the United States-Israel relationship,” said Bi-Cultural junior Andrew Yakubovich of Stamford who, together with junior Sarah Hanna, serves as co-president of IAC. “Listening to House, Senate and other influential speakers, I was happy to learn that the relationship has never been stronger.”
