On Yom HaShoah V’Hagevurah, middle school students at WTA held a meaningful ceremony for third and fourth graders in which they sang and read poems in Hebrew to commemorate all who perished in the Shoah. Fifth and sixth graders also had the privilege of hearing Sandra Mehl from the Holocaust and Human Rights Education Center’s Generations Forward program comprised of children and grandchildren of survivors of the Holocaust. Mehl told her family’s amazing story of resilience and determination.

In addition, the Westchester Torah Academy’s fourth grade class had the privilege of performing two songs at the Westchester Jewish Council’s community-wide Yom HaShoah/Holocaust commemoration.
