Stein Yeshiva elementary girls spent Lag BaOmer at Untermyer Park and Gardens in Yonkers along the Hudson River. The historic gardens are part of the estate of Samuel Untermyer, a German-Jewish philanthropist and lawyer who lead the fight against Nazi support in this country in the 1930’s, among his many other Jewish communal contributions. The students had the opportunity to wander the various gardens enjoying the beautiful surroundings and Hudson River vistas. The girls choose scenic spots to sketch nature and the elaborately constructed gardens. A wonderful outing was had by all!
